A cream train crossing a blue and green riverside landscape

If you want a day beside the water outside Seoul, use Yangsu Station as your starting point. Make Dumulmeori the main stop, then choose a restaurant and just one café. This is a researched planning guide, with time to travel and rest—not a first-hand trip report.

Start with the train journey

Search for Yangsu Station (양수역) on the Gyeongui–Jungang Line (경의중앙선). Check transfers from your starting point and the return service before deciding on the rest of the day. The 4–5-hour plan covers time in the area, not your round trip from Seoul.

Reaching the station does not mean you have reached the riverside. Review the onward journey and choose walking or local transport according to the weather and your group’s needs. Allow extra time if you plan to use a taxi; immediate availability is not guaranteed.

Find your bearings

Dumulmeori is where the Bukhangang and Namhangang rivers meet. Find Yangsu Station, the riverside and lunch on the map, then choose one of the two cafés to suit your route.

Make one stretch of riverside enough

Allow roughly 60–90 minutes to look at the water, take photographs and rest after reaching Dumulmeori. This is an editorial planning suggestion, not an observed journey time. You do not need to complete the longer walking trail around the area.

If a photo spot is busy or the sun feels strong, shorten the walk and move on to lunch. Adding Semiwon is a separate decision: check its current visitor information and set aside extra time and money. It is not included in this basic plan.

Lunch, then a café of your choice

The three listings below each had at least 4.3 stars and 200 Google reviews when checked. Scores are cumulative visitor feedback. Menu picks come from Google’s visible popular-menu section; they are not based on a personal tasting.

Give each part of the day a budget

An illustrative per-person budget is ₩8,000 for transport, ₩25,000 for lunch, ₩10,000 for a café and ₩5,000 extra: ₩48,000 altogether. These are planning allowances, not verified fares or menu prices. Edit them to fit your starting point and order.

Add any taxi rides to transport. If sharing dishes, divide the actual bill by the number of diners. Choosing one café gives you more time there and makes the day easier to budget.

Adjust for weather and walking needs

In rain, reduce time outside and focus on a meal and a café. Skip the riverside walk during heavy rain or relevant weather warnings. Indoor seating may still involve a wait, so check the venue’s latest notices.

For a wheelchair or stroller, verify the actual route and venue entrance separately. The illustrated map does not show steps, slopes or pavement conditions.

Before leaving

Check your return train, the weather and the venues’ opening notices. Hours below are weekly listings in Korea Standard Time; public holidays and temporary closures may differ. Unlisted break times or last orders are unknown, not necessarily absent.

Keep the Korean place names and addresses. Copy an address into a map app or show it to a taxi driver, and verify the exact branch. Review actual directions before setting off.

Frequently asked questions

Must the whole trip be on foot?

No. Travel to Yangsu by train and choose onward transport that suits your group. Add taxi cost and waiting time separately.

Will the rating and menu be the same on my visit?

They can change. These are dated Google Maps observations. Check the venue’s current menu, prices and holiday hours before travelling.

Summary

Start with your arrival at Yangsu Station and your train home, then add one riverside walk, one meal and one café. Allow 4–5 hours locally and adapt the route to the weather and your walking needs. Recheck venue opening hours before leaving and replace the budget’s example amounts with your own transport and food costs.
