For Seoul in November, prepare layers and both an outdoor and an indoor plan. KTO’s climate table lists November average highs and lows of 11.9°C and 3.5°C for Seoul. Those are climate figures, not the forecast for your travel dates, so check the weather again before leaving.

Do not use one city’s November weather for all of Korea
In the same KTO table, Busan’s November average high and low are 16.6°C and 8.3°C. If travelling from Seoul to Busan, check both cities. A monthly average also does not mean that every day will reach that temperature.
Leaving early, spending midday indoors and walking by the river after dinner create different clothing needs within one day. Shortly before the trip, use Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts to check temperature, rain and wind for each place and time.
Pack a combination, not a single answer
Our starting suggestion is a long-sleeved base, a removable middle layer and an outer layer that blocks wind. A scarf is a small addition for an evening outside. Decide how heavy the outer layer should be from the actual forecast and your own tolerance for cold.
For walking days, choose familiar shoes. With rain forecast, add an umbrella and a small bag for wet items. Leave space to carry a layer when you go indoors; otherwise the extra clothing can become awkward luggage.
| Plan | Useful starting items | Check shortly before |
|---|---|---|
| City walking | Layers and familiar shoes | Morning and evening temperatures |
| Riverside time | Wind-blocking outer layer | Wind and rain |
| Museum and shopping | Easy-to-remove middle layer, small bag | Closures and entry deadlines |
| Moving between cities | Adjustable clothing combination | Forecast for the destination city |
A peak-foliage date is a forecast, not a booking guarantee
The Weatheri forecast published by KTO on 8 September 2026 estimates peak foliage at Bukhansan on 4 November. Weather can change the date. It is not a forecast for every tree in central Seoul.
Check the destination’s own notices and recent local updates shortly before visiting. Check the year and location of photographs too. Choose a walk and an indoor visit you would enjoy even if the leaves do not match the picture you hoped to see.
Locate the outdoor option and indoor alternative
Seoul Forest and the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan are in different areas. They are not a short neighbourhood walking loop. Check actual transit directions if visiting both; the schematic’s numbers identify locations rather than a sequence.
In suitable weather, choose one section of Seoul Forest
Seoul Tourism Organization lists Ttukseom Station on Line 2 and Seoul Forest Station on the Suin–Bundang Line as access points. Search all the way from your accommodation to a park entrance, not only to the station bearing the park’s name.
Our suggestion is 60–90 minutes of walking plus one nearby meal. This is a planning allowance, not a promise of foliage conditions or enough time to cover the whole park. Leave room to shorten the outing if wind or rain makes it less enjoyable.
Consider the National Museum of Korea on a cold day
The museum’s official information lists free admission to its permanent displays, with possible charges for special exhibitions. Its address is 137 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul — 서울 용산구 서빙고로 137. Ichon Station is served by Line 4 and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line; check the onward route to the entrance.
Pick a theme you want to see and consider a 90–120-minute visit, rather than trying to cover everything. That is our planning suggestion, not a prescribed museum visit length. Check the official opening and closure notice, last admission and any special-exhibition reservation.
Make three checks before finalising the day
First, check short-range weather for both your accommodation area and destination. Second, read the outdoor destination’s notices and recent conditions. Third, check the indoor alternative’s closure and reservation rules. Save the two options together so a change in weather does not require a new plan from scratch.
For a day outside Seoul, calculate the return journey separately from time at the destination. The month alone does not guarantee autumn colour or suitable weather at any particular place.
Frequently asked questions
Will Seoul be at peak colour on 4 November?
That is the 2026 forecast for Bukhansan, not an observed or guaranteed peak for all of Seoul. Check conditions at your actual destination before visiting.
Do I need a padded winter coat in Seoul in November?
A monthly average cannot settle that for every traveller. Use the morning and evening forecast, time outside and your tolerance for cold to choose suitable layers.
Should I visit both the park and the museum?
They are an outdoor option and an indoor alternative. If you choose both, allow separately for travel between the two areas.
Summary
For November, distinguish Seoul’s climate from other cities and prepare flexible layers. Monthly averages and the Bukhansan foliage forecast do not confirm conditions on your travel dates. Check the short-range forecast and destination notices, then choose a Seoul Forest walk or an indoor alternative such as the National Museum.
